Hello! My name is Katherine Tschang, but most people just call me Katie. I am a student currently enrolled in the School of Visual Art's 3D Animation and VFX Program, on track to graduate in 2026. While I am most interested in character-related tasks, I am always open to trying and learning new things.

As a Chinese-Filipino girl born and raised in the suburbs of New Jersey, I often struggled with my identity. Never feeling Chinese, Filipino, or American enough, I found my sense of self through other means. For a while I was "the smart kid," or  "the violinist," or "the ice-skater." The only label that really stuck was "the artist."

I love creating. Ever since I was a child I loved to make things with my hands. Whether it was drawing, sculpting, painting, weaving, sewing, or even baking, I just wanted to create. I picked up a few more hobbies as I grew up, such as knitting, crocheting, and content creation, but I always made art. Art is how I express myself, how I relax, and how I love.

While I may still be finding my artistic style, I pour myself into each one of my pieces. Perhaps it's perfectionism, pride, or just plain old stubbornness, but I hate to put out anything that looks to be less than my best.
